The
National Walking Horse Association is embarking on a new
effort to educate the horse-owning public on the joy of
riding and owning a Tennessee Walking Horse. This effort
will be targeting county extension agents and their local
4H programs.
The first step in this program is to locate NWHA members
who are willing to work with 4H Extension Agents by
volunteering their time, their knowledge, their horses,
etc. Once a member has agreed to participate, we ask that
the member obtain the name and mailing address of the
agent(s) in the county or counties in which they would
like to participate. Our office will send a letter to the
agent, asking for the opportunity to introduce the TWH to
the local 4H program.
Please consider becoming involved in this outreach
program. You will have the opportunity to share your love
of the Tennessee Walking Horse with children who may be
experiencing this breed for the first time. Please email
the NWHA Office at
execdir7@nwha.com with your name and contact info, as
well as the name and address of the extension agents in
the counties in which you would like to participate.
