The National
Walking Horse Association gives affiliating shows free
inclusion on our website, free listings of your event in
national breed publications, free listings of your event in
regional publications as you wish.
Limited liability for horse show management for enforcement
of the HPA
When a show sponsor
affiliates with the NWHA, we accept responsibility for
enforcement of the Horse Protection Act and other animal
cruelty laws. We take our job seriously, so you can go on to
the work of putting on a successful horse event.

The NWHA Mentor Program
Show managers who
request this service will receive, free of charge, phone
support and advice from other experienced show managers. The
NWHA is made up primarily of volunteers working together for
the betterment of our horses. We want your show to succeed.
We will put you in touch with an experienced horse show
mentor to help you through the steps toward a successful
show.
Hi-Point Awards
All NWHA members'
horses competing in NWHA-affiliated shows are eligible for
annual year-end high points awards.
Incentives for
New Walking Horse Start Up Shows and New Walking Horse Shows
that Affiliate With NWHA for the First Time
The NWHA Board
approved incentives for new Walking Horse Horse start up
shows and Walking Horse shows that affiliate with NWHA for
the first time. The DQP fees that are paid to NWHA will be
cut in half for the first two years. This means if the show
is a no pay back show that normally pays $3 per horse per
day they will have to pay only $1.50 per horse per day. If
it is a pay back show, instead of paying $4 per horse per
day they will have to pay only $2 per horse per day.
Additionally these shows will get a free page ad in the
National News the first year.

be recognized as one of the leaders in the care and welfare
of the horses on your show grounds. Exhibitors can attend
your show confident that they are competing against other
sound horses and that they will receive a fair inspection
and honest judging.

"Member's
Only" Trophy
If your National
Walking Horse Association (NWHA) affiliated show adds a
“NWHA Members Only" class, an NWHA trophy can be
purchased for $15 for the class.
