The newly edited 2008
National Walking Horse Association rule book is now
available on the NWHA website. The old rule book has been
deleted as well as the Spotted Saddle Horse Rules, Racking
Horse Rules and all additions and corrections that were
previous listed as these have all been included in the
2008 rule book.
The Board of Directors is
excited about the new format which enables members to
print the rule book on their home or office printers. It
has been formatted to fit into a standard 3-ring binder.
This new format makes it very easy for members to remove
future updates or revisions by simply printing those
revisions, pulling out old or outdated sections and then
inserting the new pages, along with update index pages.
The new format also eliminates the cost of printing bound
books which can become outdated very quickly; however, it
is still possible to purchase a printed rulebook from the
NWHA office if you prefer.
Much thought and hard work
has gone into producing this rule book. It has an entirely
new and very attractive format making it much easier to
find specific information for judges, exhibitors and show
managers. The Directors hope you will be pleased with this
new book.
**Please note: The index is
currently being finalized and is not included in the
website version yet. We apologize to the membership for
that, but with the DQP and Judges clinics scheduled for
the 3rd and fourth weekends of February it was vital to
make this new rule book available immediately, even
without the index. When the index is completed there will
be a posting on the website.
Any suggested future rule
changes will be announced to the membership via the
website. An interactive webpage has been designed by the
Rules Committee to allow the membership an opportunity to
comment on any suggested changes before they are submitted
to the Board of Directors for approval.
