ANNUAL HIGH POINT AWARD PROGRAM

Divsions: All (rail + versatility)
NWHA Membership Required
Horse Owners & Exhibitor must be members to accumulate points.
Purpose: For those NWHA Members in good standing competing at NWHA sanctioned events only. Points are counted towards the horse in NWHA recognized divisions. These are awarded annually at the NWHA Annual Awards Banquet.
This program awards the members participating at NWHA sanctioned events only.
DRESSAGE HORSE OF THE YEAR PROGRAM
Cost: $20
Divisions: Dressage
NWHA Membership Required
Horse Owner
Rider may purchase a Show Season Card
Purpose: For those NWHA Members in good standing competing at any dressage event with an "L" Rated USEF/USDF licensed judge.
This program awards the horse and rider competing in the discipline of dressage and recognizes the development of sound horsemanship skills.
THE PHOENIX AWARD
Purpose: In 2001 the NWHA Board of Directors initiated an annual award to be given to a person or persons who have been active in supporting, promoting, and/or advocating for the SOUND walking horse; someone(s) who has made or is making an outstanding contribution to these horses. Individuals are nominated by the membership annually for consideration for this award.

LIFETIME SUPERIOR ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM
Cost: FREE
Divisions: All (rail + versatility)
NWHA Membership Required
Adult: Horse Owner only
Youth: Horse Owner + Youth Rider
Purpose: For those NWHA Members in good standing competing at any event with a licensed judge. For adults enrolled in the program, points are counted towards the horse - for the lifetime of the horse. For Youth participants, points are counted for the youth/horse combination only.
This program awards the versatility of the breed.
The National Walking Horse Association continues to find ways to recognize all facets of this great breed. Award programs have been established to highlight achievements for NWHA Members not only annually, but for a lifetime. Whether the rider or the horse are young or a seasoned veteran or they are in the showring or out on the trail - there is an award program recognizing the epitome of our great breed.
THE YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT
AWARD
Purpose: Established in 2014, This award is presented to the youth member who exemplifies the highest level of dedication and support of the NWHA mission and organization by inspiring and educating others through leadership and community events that promote NWHA and the sound walking horse.

THE PEGASUS AWARD
Purpose:In 2007, the NWHA Board of Directors initiated the Pegasus Award to also be awarded annually to an outstanding individual within the organization. The Pegasus is awarded to a NWHA member who has made a significant contribution to our organization through donations of personal time, funds, and energy – helping NWHA to advance its mission for the horse.
